Jean-Christophe ROUET was born in Niort - FRANCE. His passion for music, and particularly for the violin, appeared very early. After classical musical studies, and after having met many of the jazz musicians around, he moves to Paris, to improve his instrumental technique and musical knowledge at " l'Ecole Normale Supérieure de Musique" , where he will spend five years.
During this period, he also studies improvisation and orchestration in the Paris Jazz School "CIM", where he will work later as a violin teacher (also teaching in Niort, Poitiers and Tours).
Among other personalities, he has played with Stephane GRAPPELLI , Didier LOCKWOOD, Patrick SAUSSOIS (concerts in Dakar in June 2008, in France during the summer of 2008, in Alger in November 2008...), the " JAZZ TZIGANE DE FRANCE " trio for tours in France, Europe, China, South America, Africa ... , and also Rido BAYONNE , Manolo GONZALES, and most recently the famous Cape-Verdian singer Cesaria EVORA for tours in June/July 2007 in the US and in Canada (concerts at the "Carnegie Hall" of New York, the International Jazz Festival of Montreal, Toronto, Vancouver, Detroit… ), and in Cape Verde (September 2008 - Festival of Santa Maria, December 2009). He also appears in Cesarie EVORA's last CD : "Nha Sentimento".
